Tuition fees
- The tuition fee for ‘European Students’ is € 4,500.
- The tuition fee for ‘Third Country Students’ is € 8,500.
Successful applicants will be required to pay the first instalment of € 500 within a few weeks of receiving the admission letter. This payment is non-refundable in case you later decide not to take up your place in the programme. The remainder of the tuition fees will fall due about two months before the start of the academic year.
The tuition fees cover the provision of the teaching, as well as some EMLE-related social activities. The responsibility to meet the costs of living and travel expenses (except for travel to the Midterm Meeting) rests with the students. The costs of living vary substantially across the different locations. As a rough guide, accommodations costs are around € 350 per month in Hamburg and € 400 – € 500 in Rotterdam. The partner universities may charge small additional fees for issuing non-standard degree documents.
The Erasmus Mundus programme offers a number of scholarships to highly qualified EMLE students. Please visit our scholarship page for more information. Furthermore, the fifteen highest ranked admitted non-European applicants who are not nominated for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship will receive a partial waiver of the tuition fee of € 4,000.
