Scholarships European Students

In the academic year 2010/2011, we expect to be able to offer roughly five Erasmus Mundus scholarships to European students, as defined in the application section.

What to expect

The grant amounts to € 10,000. From this grant,  € 4,000 will be deducted for the tuition fees for European students (€ 500 of the tuition fee will be waived). The remaining  € 6,000 will be paid in monthly installments. In addition, grantees who spend their third term at a non-European partner university, i.e. Haifa or Mumbai, will receive an additional € 3,000 in March, as a contribution to travel and relocation costs. The grant for these students thus amounts to € 13,000. Finally, the Consortium covers the grantees' insurance costs.

How to apply

Applicants merely need to tick the box at question seven on the online application form. At question eight, you will need to choose your allocation preferences for the third term, bearing in mind that whether or not you receive the grant may make a difference to your preferences. The selection of grantees will be done according to the same criteria as the selection for the EMLE programme as a whole, i.e., the top few applicants will be offered the grants, subject to restrictions of the Erasmus Mundus programme.

Student Voices

"The EMLE program is a unique chance to broaden one's focus and to dive into interdisciplinary research. Having studied political science before, I wanted to learn more about the economic rationales behind the rules that are governing our everyday life as well as about the potentials to improve them. My expectations were more than fulfilled! With the new tools at hand I was able to start a Ph.D. program at the International Max Planck Research School for Competition and Innovation.

Apart from the outstanding academic quality of the program I cannot think of a better way to get to know energetic people from all around the world. Sitting in a Hamburg dorm and enjoying dinner in a 20sqm kitchen with friends from Italy, Russia, Mexico, Bangladesh, India, China, the Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Ireland, Israel, Taiwan and Argentina is what makes the EMLE program an experience of a lifetime."
