Welcome!

Dear visitor,

Welcome to the website of the European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) programme.

This programme offers the unique opportunity to study at two or three European universities. Each participating university awards an LL.M. degree or a master degree which is equivalent to an LL.M. The programme provides students with advanced knowledge on the economic effects of divergent laws and prepares them for a career in public organisations or multinational law firms. Graduates are also well prepared for PhD research.

On this website you can find information regarding this one-year masters course in Law and Economics. With the menu buttons on the top as well as your left you can navigate the site:

Firstly, you can find information regarding the EMLE programme in general like the subject of Law and Economics, the recognition of the EMLE programme as an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course and its management. With this recognition, the European Commission has labelled the EMLE programme as a course of "outstanding academic quality". The EMLE programme received the Erasmus Mundus label in the first selection round (2004), along with only 18 other Master courses. One of the implications of the Erasmus Mundus label is that the EMLE programme is able to annually grant student scholarships to about 20 non-European students. As of the academic year 2008/2009, scholarships for European students are also available.

Secondly, you can find information regarding the programme itself: the ten partner universities, the courses and thesis and the Midterm Meeting, in which students and lecturers from the programme all get together for workshops and discussions.
